What is Enameled Round Copper Wire?
Enameled round copper wire, round copper magnet wire or round copper winding wire is a particular type of copper conductor covered with one or more layers of electrical insulation enamel. This coating is developed specially to ensure the electrical insulation of the copper wire when it is wound into a coil.
Enamelled round copper wire is being largely used for Electric motors, Transformers, Generators, Inductors, relays, solenoids, compressors, Domestic appliances and other Electromagnetic equipment.
The correct wire diameter, insulation material, thermal class and the build of insulation will be dictated by temperature, voltage, winding design and application demand.

What is enameled copper wire used for?
Electric Motors
Available in the form of winding wire for stator and rotor windings where good electrical insulation and thermal resistance are necessary.
Transformers
For primary and secondary transformer windings (distributions transformers, power transformers, dry-type transformers).
Generators
Appropriate for windings of generators where a stable electrical insulating resistance are requested and thermal aging is undesired.
Inductors & Coils
Designs with additional axial insulation (above and below) suitable for winding in electromagnetic coils, inductors, relays and solenoids in a number of small sizes.
EV & Automotive Motors
Electric vehicle traction motors and other automotive electrical equipment may make use of copper wire with a higher thermal-class of enamel.
Household Appliances
Applications include gas turbines, compressors, fans, pumps, washing machines, air conditioners and other motor-driven domestic appliances.

Enameled Round Copper Wire Insulation Types
UEW – Polyurethane
Has a good solderability and widely used in the coils, transformers, relays, and electronic components.
PEW – Polyester
A general purpose winding material used in applications where good thermal and mechanical properties are required.
EIW – Polyesterimide
This is of higher thermal resistance and is used in the construction of motors, transformers and other industrial electrical appliances.
AIW – Polyamide-imide
High-performance chemical and corrosion resistant product designed for harsh applications with high thermal, chemical and mechanical resistance.
PI – Polyimide
A excellent choice when even the best thermal performanceis desired.

Design of enameled round copper wire
Copper: The wire is made of copper.
Enamelled: why use the enamel? Because the enamel material stops the wire from short-circuiting with nearby wires or conductive materials. And it also provides protection against environmental factors such as moisture and oxidation.
Round: The round shape allows for easy winding and coiling.
Packing
Plywood wooden spool / bobbin, spool / bobbin common sizes: 250*400; 250*500; 250*600, one spool / bobbin wire weight 30 ~ 150kgs
Outer packing: pallet or plywood box, adopts by sea, but small sample by air
