Types of enameled round wires
Self-bondable wire / self-soldering wire: bondable magnet wire has an additional adhesive layer over the primary insulation. When activated by heat or a solvent, this layer bonds the coils together, creating a self-supporting coil that doesn’t need a bobbin.
Normal enameled Wire: the enamel coating must be removed before welding.
Aluminum vs. Copper Enameled Wire
Aluminum wire offers advantages in weight and cost, but its electrical conductivity is lower than copper.
